Valery Borzov: Valeri Filippovich Borzov (born October 20, 1949) is a Ukrainian athlete; an Olympic and world champion; former president of the Ukrainian Olympic Committee, and a Ukrainian cabinet minister for Youth and Sports. He competed for the Soviet Union. In 1972 he won both the 100 m and 200 m sprint events at the Olympic Games in Munich.

Linford Christie: Born in Saint Andrew, Jamaica (April 1960), he emigrated to Britain at the age of seven. Christie took up athletics at the age of 19, and was the surprise winner of the 100m at the 1986 European Championships and finished second in the Commonwealth Games of the same year. He took the silver in the Summer Olympics of 1988 when Ben Johnson was disqualified after setting a new World Record for a doping offence. Linford became Britains Olympic 100m champion in 1992, and in 1993 became the first man to hold the Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth titles when he won at the Stuttgart World Championships. He retired from competition in 1999 to concentrate on coaching.
