Description: Barbara Windsor with Ross Kemp

Barbara Windsor: Born Barbara-Ann Deeks in Shoreditch, London (August 1937). Her first film appearance was The Belles of St Trinians (1954). She then went on to become a star with her saucy portrayals of a good time girl in some 9 Carry On films and several TV specials, between 1964 and 1978. Her first Carry On movie was Carry On Spying and the last one Carry On Dick. After a gradual fall from the top, which also saw her husband, Ronnie Knight, flee to Spain on Bank robbery charges, she considered quitting acting. However in 1994 she was offered the plum role of Peggy Mitchell in the popular BBC drama series Eastenders. A debilitating case of the Epstein-Barr virus saw her take a two year long absence from the screen in 2003, during which she returned for two episodes of EastEnders in 2004. She rejoined the cast on a full-time basis in summer 2005.

Ross Kemp: Born in Barking, Essex (July 1964). His first credited TV appearance was in 1986, as Graham Lodsworth in Emmerdale Farm (now Emmerdale). But by far his most famous role to date was his award-winning portrayal of hardman 'Grant Mitchell' in EastEnders (1990-1999). After EastEnders Kemp's first role for ITV was in Hero Of The Hour. During its filming, he required hospital treatment after being shot in the face when a stunt went wrong. He also starred in the TV series Without Motive and In Defence, in 2000. He continued to play to type in the 2002 series Ultimate Force as SAS Sgt Henry "Henno" Garvie. He also gained the role of 'Cinna' in the 2004 TV movie remake of the film Spartacus. In 2005 it was rumoured that he would return to EastEnders as Grant Mitchell, 6 years after leaving.
