Pierce Brosnan: Born Pierce Brendan Brosnan in Drogheda, Republic of Ireland (May 1953). Brosnan became a TV star in the early '80s with the lead role in mini-series Manions of America, followed in 1982 by the title role in Remington Steele. His first major film role came in 1987 with The Fourth Protocol, though he will mostly be remembered for his portrayal of James Bond since 1995's GoldenEye. Arguably the best Bond since Sean Connery, Pierce has played the suave super-spy four times (GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, and Die Another Day) but has reportedly hung up his walther PPK and left the role as of 2005.
