Ronnie Barker: Born Ronald William George Barker in Bedford, September 1929. He was an English comic actor and writer. His best-known for his appearances alongside his long-time comedy partner, Ronnie Corbett, in the very popular TV variety show The Two Ronnies; as Norman Stanley "Fletch" Fletcher in the sitcom Porridge and its BAFTA award winning sequel Going Straight; and working with David Jason in Open All Hours. His skills as a character actor, his love for and facility with the English language, and his gift for comedy made him a well-loved performer. Sadly Ronnie died from heart failure in October 2005, aged 76.

Ronnie Corbett: Born Ronald Balfour Corbett in Edinburgh (December 1930). He has worked in film and television since the 1950s, appearing in Crackerjack! as a regular in its early days during the 1950s and playing a minor part in the film Casino Royale. He rose in prominence in the 1960s and his BBC TV comedy sketch show with Ronnie Barker, The Two Ronnies, lasted from 1971 to 1987. This show saw Barker and Corbett performing comedy sketches and musical numbers. Additionally, in the middle of the show, Corbett would give a lengthy monologue sitting in a large leather chair (emphasising his small size), wearing a golfing sweater. Corbett is perhaps best known as the comedian's straight-man and achieved a unique cult status in this way - a relatively small individual who loves to play golf; he often became the butt of other comedian's jokes. However, his own skills as an outright comedian were never doubted and his peers thought extremely highly of him.
