Description: Tom Baker as Doctor Who

Tom Baker: Born Thomas Stewart Baker in Liverpool, January 1934. Tom left school at 15 to become a novice monk, leaving six years later to join the Merchant Navy and begin acting as a hobby. He got his first break as Rasputin in Nicholas and Alexandra (1971) but will be best known as the fourth incarnation of The Doctor (Doctor Who, 1974-1981), playing the role for seven seasons (the longest to do so). After leaving the series Tom appeared in Blackadder and hosted the Children’s series The Book Tower. In the '90s he has had recurring roles in the TV series' Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) and Medics. In 2004 he completed filming a season of the BBC drama Monarch of the Glen, and also provided the voice for ZeeBadDee in the animated feature film The Magic Roundabout.
